Analog childhood. Digital adulthood. Thirty years of living inside technology... and still genuinely excited by it.
I grew up before everyone was glued to a screen, then watched the world transform in real time. That experience gave my generation something you can't really teach: I remember both sides. The before and the after. Though not unique, it has shaped how I think about technology, about what it's actually for, and about what gets lost when we stop paying attention.
Professionally, my career started at a break-fix computer shop and grew from there: phone tech, Desktop Support, Systems and Network Administration, corporate environments, SMBs, then Managed Service Providers. A genuine jack of all trades built over decades of hands-on work. Eventually I had the opportunity to start and own my own MSP in New Orleans, Louisiana. After running it for 5 years, I decided it was time to exit for a unique opportunity.
I had been helping a small YouTube channel and joined their Discord server, eventually joining the moderation team. After being offered the Admin position to completely run the server, I did so for a few years while helping out with AMAs and various technical tasks along the way. Forming strong bonds with the team, I was offered a position on one of my visits to the Studio: Chief Technical Officer. As with every major decision, I discussed it with the Mrs. and quickly accepted.
The following months were a whirlwind, with several highs and lows. I was extremely fortunate to sell the business to colleagues I had known for years: kindred spirits with the same value structure I wished to foster for both my clients and employees. I worked for months to transition the business, put the house up, sold that too, said some tear-filled goodbyes to friends and family, and made the move to the great state of Nevada.
I'm now part of the Operations Team, bringing the same collaborative instincts I've always had: infrastructure, implementation, systems planning... finding how to apply that skillset within a creative media environment. It's a different context. The work is fun. The stress is different... better. I love what I do and the people I work with.
Outside of what pays the bills: I'm married to a woman who is not only beautiful, but annoyingly talented, refreshingly smart, and makes me laugh every day. She came with a rambunctious fur-son named Tiberius. I'm an audiophile who both listens obsessively and attempts to make music... mainly for myself. I read everything from history to fiction to nonfiction across multiple genres. I watch a lot of film and television and love to discuss pop culture. I'm fascinated by world socioeconomics and ancient history. Gadget-head, geek, nerd, and all-around guy's guy.
I look forward eagerly to the future and the adventures this next chapter of my life will bring...
Updated when I remember. Approximate. Human.
I'm not hard to find. Whether it's tech, media, history, music, or something I haven't thought about yet: the links are there.
